People are dying of dehydration, there is an immediate need for food and water. 1.8 million people have been affected by the typhoon that ravaged the region with wind gusts up to 168mph
Typhoon Rai has taken over 400 lives and countless are unaccounted for.
Typhoon Rai hit the Philippines on December 16th, 2021. Many aid workers describe it as, “a complete carnage!” The typhoon has ripped homes, schools, and hospitals to pieces.
90 percent of homes are destroyed, and 80 percent of the Surigao del Norte, a province in the Philippines, residents are homeless.
Those who have survived the typhoon may not survive due to a lack of food, water, and necessities.
The Philippines is the only country in Asia in which Christianity is the national religion. People were getting ready to celebrate the holiday season with their families as the typhoon hit. Homes have been destroyed and many families are now homeless. We must get together in this time of great difficulty for the people of the Philippines.
